This well carved figure depicts the Quan Yin holding a vase of her tears and seated near the mountain edge above the ocean. Next to her is a child with hands in the praying position and the face turned outward. The jade is of pale color and has good translucency. The back is carved also with a scene of a dwelling and a tree in a village setting thus the piece can be displayed on a table as well as on a shelf. Jade has been collected not only for its artistic merit but also for its investment value and its healing ability as believed by many.
