finely carved, tall Chinese Zitan wood cabinets;ectangular form. This cabinets has two large doors. The cabinet have a false floor accessed by a removable panel. We cold at extra charge modify this cabinet so this space was accessed via a drawer in the front. Each of the door panels and raised framework with intricately detailed design of writhing dragons. Importantly, the sides of the cabinets contain matching carving. Zitan excretes a resin that turns black. Zitan that has not been polished for a long time will accumulate the black resin to the point that it appears like black lacquer. H: 79 3/4"
The wood has historically been valued in China, particularly during the Qing dynasty periods. Due to its slow growth and rarity, furniture made from zitan is difficult to find and can be expensive. It has been one of the most prized woods for millennia.
